I recently purchased a few basic tools and blanks to get me started. I must confess i'm addicted to watching the stamping tutorials available on Beaducation.com. There are sooooooo many projects I'm eager to try but still need to pick up some additional tools. Based on the advice from the beginner tutorial it's recommended you practice first so for now it's just practice, practice, practice. I love the fact that stamping isn't just an adult project my girls already have projects of their own in mind. They have been practicing right along with me.
Thank you for inspiring our creativity.

I found this site last week and immediately fell in love with the atmosphere. My first jewelry project was a pair of earrings. The loops were crooked and I hadn't quite gotten the hang of wrapping the wire properly, but I wore them proudly, telling everyone, "Look! I made these!" Not everyone was impressed, but it did not matter to me.

How exciting, l LOVE Beaducation. My first adornments, don't know if l would call it jewelry, was making dandelion chain circlets for myself any friends who would sit still for a minute, the cat, dog...Really. Then l made lots of necklaces and earrings with beads and findings back in high school. I was so lucky! I got to go in this one store, take home boxes of beads and findings, and they would pay me for everything l made! And it never cost me a penny for supplies. A great job.
Then l made lots of jewelry with beads and shells and the like, graduated to lost wax casting, then to fabrication. I am learning tons from your videos, thank you so much for what you do. Loving learning stamping, riveting, everything! 😂

Unknown said...

I have 2 sets of original beaducation alphabet stamps and use them often. I would love to win this prize and give it to my sweet daughter in law to get her started.

WindowCat said...

First piece of jewelry I ever made had to have been a dandelion crown when I was very young. First lasting piece of jewelry was a clunky necklace with wire crochet, tiny beads and seaglass. Still like the idea, but need to work on the execution. Now that I have some actual skills, and tools, I will give it a go!

The first piece of jewelry I made was a crocheted button bracelet. I was 12 and my grandma taught me. Later that summer, she taught me embroidery using a single strand of floss on waxed paper. She lived through the depression and was always very frugal. I have embroidered flour sack towels she made that I cherish.

As I'm sure most of us have, I started off with beading. A friend and took a Cold Connection class at the Tucson Gem Show in 2012. It was that moment that I fell in love with working with metal. Stamping and texturizing... watching the metal move.... ah... I'm in heaven!! ❤️

Melody Shingler said...

livewire said...

My very favorite stamp is the new Art Deco Fan. So unusual and versatile ... and beautiful!

Beth said...

Technically, the first piece of jewelry I ever made was a macaroni necklace painted with fingerpaints in Kindergarten. The jewelry bug never left once I caught it. As I learned how to crochet, I would make bracelets and necklaces with that, then came what we called a "french spool" that make a cord. Next I learned about weaving embroidery floss into friendship bracelets. Now I make chain maille and dichroic and fused glass jewelry. I love making beautiful things, and I love seeing people enjoy the pieces I've made.

Now 50 years later my work has allowed me to make a comfortable living.

First of all...thanks so much for offering a giveaway, and for having such an informational website! My very first jewelry making endeavor was snipping sewing pins and making earrings...I must have been around 12 and had gotten my ears pierced!

The first piece I made was a simple butterfly necklace. I wrapped a 'vintaj' brass butterfly filigree around a simple pendant. I still like that necklace. It's inspirational.

Thanks for the chance to win! My first jewelry project was a bead-in-beadframe necklace using hematite and goldstone, on Soft-flex wire, and crimped. And looking back, it was awfully finished :( ... thankfully, I've improved, as have my pieces, thanks to videos and tutorials offered on your page !

My first piece of jewelry was many many moons ago and I can't remember what it was. However, since I've gotten serious about jewelry, I'd say my first piece since the reboot was a bracelet with wire wrapped components. Thanks for having this giveaway!

My daughter and I are looking forward to starting stamping when her school semester is over. She is graduating high school and wants to start an Etsy and will finally have time. It would be wonderful to win the giveaway. We have watched several of your videos and can't wait. One of the favorite stamps is the camper stamps and also the Mandala stamps; I'm not sure if there is one stamp in particular since we're looking forward to creating using various stamps. This is a lot of fun and we both can do this together. Thank you.

All I can say is - Thank You Lisa Niven Kelly for creating this wonderful site!  I actually stumbled upon this website by accident in 2008.  Clearly I love it, as I am still hanging out here :-)  I must say that your instructional videos really helped me build a solid jewelry making foundation.  Since then, I have taken online videos with other instructors too.  But it was you, who helped me build on my jewelry making techniques.  My very first piece of jewelry was a simple bracelet & necklace I made in 2008 after watching your instructional video on "Basic Loops".  Since then, I have taken your classes on Beaducation, and even on Craftsy.  I love your style of instruction, and the attention to detail!!!

The very first piece of jewelry I ever made was a shell necklace using some shells I found on a beach visit and some string from my grandma's stash of craft supplies. I was very proud. The first piece of jewelry I made to sell was a pair of earrings using pearl and crystal for a collection inspired by my Kauai beach wedding. Looks like the beach is a theme in my work!
