The first piece of jewelry I made was a wire wrapped bird nest necklace. Thanks for the chance to win!!
I'm sure that the very piece of jewelry was a friendship bracelet at summer camp in my childhood, but the first serious pieces that started my jewelry business were wire wrapped beach shell and agates. All the shells and agates I had collected on my beach walks were just sitting in jars on windowsills, and I thought, "I should find something to do with those." It just took one spool of wire to create a passion that now feeds my creative soul everyday. Thanks for this giveaway!
The first piece I ever made was for my aunt. I made a necklace for her because she was the one to give me my stamping supplies for Christmas, so I wanted to make her a gift with the materials.

I honestly don't remember which pair I made first, but it all started with a batch of earrings (probably a dozen pairs) - they were all SIMPLE: purchased beads on purchased headpins/eye pins/ear wires (mainly a beginner's practice session on simple loops, wrapped loops, etc.).
It's hard to believe that the first pair of earrings I sold came from that first batch - AND they were, by far, the UGLIEST pair! Ha!
I occasionally look back at the photo of them and (after a major CRINGE at the poor workmanship) marvel at how far I've come since then.
And I do still marvel that they sold at all - let alone, right away. It bears repeating: You never know what will appeal to someone else, so DON'T scrap everything you don't like for yourself!
I have yet to get into stamping, however, so I'm thrilled at this giveaway and would love to win all these great goodies! Thank you SO much for the opportunity!
I am trying this craft with spoons!

Back in the late 60's there was a company called Jewelart that sold rhinestones you could glue into their base metal pins, earrings etc. That was my first introduction into making my own personal jewelry. Since then it has been beading, chain maille and starting metal stamping.
I'm stumped--I'm sad to say I have no idea what the first piece of jewelry I made was! I do remember what got me into making jewelry though--I was given a beautiful beaded bracelet for my birthday (and I know it wasn't cheap!), and it started stretching apart. They had strung it with thin wire (not the beading kind!) and "tied" knots to the toggle. So I bought the supplies to restring it, following the directions in a beading magazine. Thanks for the chance to win this great prize!
