Since good ergonomics in the workplace is super important to me, I improved my workstation with a "Kangaroo Desk" from Ergodesktop.com. It allows me to alternate from a sitting desk to a standing desk very easily. In keeping with encouraging my employees and customers to take care of their bodies while they craft or work on a computer, I wanted to introduce you to this product, because I love it!
Pros:
- Easy to assemble.
- Comes in several color/finish options.
- Affordable.
- Sits right on your desk. It isn't attached to anything, so moving it is simple.
- The monitor stand and keyboard/mini desktop move independently.
- Easy to go from standing to sitting.
- Works for all heights.
- Made in the USA.
- I have been using this desk for 5 months and I have no cons!

Before I got this product, I had a sitting station and a standing station at my desk. My cord to my laptop was long enough so I could easily go between the two but it was a bit of a hassle. Honestly, this worked just fine for a while but I wanted something to tie it all together. Now it's all in one place and going between standing and sitting is a breeze. Most importantly, Stella likes it better because if I am standing, she can lay right on top of my feet without getting tangled in a bunch of cords.
As crafty-computer types, we need to remember to take care of our bodies. Being hunched over or looking too far down (even 3 inches) can wreak havoc on our necks and backs. Stretch, take breaks, go for walks -- and try standing at your desk. If you aren't ready to commit by buying a Kangaroo Desk, I suggest fashioning your own make-shift standing station to to see how you like it. Take it from me, your back will thank you! :)
I'm not the only one standing at Beaducation!
Disclaimer: I am not getting any kickback from this company. I just wanted to share the information because I really love this product! Since I started standing more, the kink in my neck is better and the soreness in my back is gone; my other employees have reported improvements in their stiffness and posture as well. Let us know if you give it a try!
