New lowercase stamp set font....drum roll please

Ok we received the samples of the new lowercase letter stamps, for making stamped jewelry, and let me say, WOW WOW WOW. The whole office was jumping with excitement (nothing excites us more than new cool tools). They only sent us samples of a few letters and the quality and precision is amazing. The sets are in production and I have begged and pleaded to get them before mid November so you can all have time to make your holiday line of jewelry with them, or to put the sets on your wish list :)

We still don't have the final price but IT WILL BE LESS THAN $200...woohoo!

So I am finally willing to show you the font.....here it is. PLEASE post a comment to let me know what you think!
This font was hand drawn by me (Lisa, head mama here at Beaducation.com). I learned a lot about how to create a font. Really, all we needed was an image for each letter but I went ahead and actually made it into an official font so I can use it in Word Docs and such.

We named this font Kismet, because it was so meant to be.....it is so "me".

Each letter was very thought out and edited over and over again. Some letters had a lot more loopiness to them but it got to be a bit much so we turned it down a bit. I am very happy with and hope you are too!

Thanks for the comments....the set is going to be really cute. I wanted to make it more spiraly-ish but remember, when the letters get that small any more whimsy to them will just look like a blob :)

I worry that if you have a word or name to stamp with the letters b, c, d, l, o, or p close together and then just one or two 'swirly' letters in the same word, that it'll look odd. Those aforementioned letters seem very plain-looking.I'd like to see some stamping examples on the site using several of these letters in the same word or piece with just one or two 'swirly' letters and also some examples of common stamped words like love, and, peace, etc. using this custom font set before purchase. I'm hoping you went through all different types of words during the testing stage and it won't be anything to worry about.

So perfect. I can't wait!

that is a good point about wanting to see the letters in words to make sure they "work". I will put up a lot of samples once we post the stamps sets. But for now, the writing in this blog post, under the samples of the individual letters, is written in Kismet so you can see such words as "love" and other words that have plain letters next to them.

LOVE IT!!!!! Can't wait to start stamping with them!

I have to say I was hoping for a simpler font. I really think the curly style looks strange on jewelry. I hope if this one does well you will choose another font soon!

I just have to have them!!!!
I can't tell you how long I have waited for something like this ...I am so excited and hope I don't miss out when they are launched!

I'm super excited! Why is it so difficult for these companies to make lower case stamps available? Why do you have to custom order them? Just curious...

Lisa Niven Kelly said...

It is difficult for these companies to make these because it involves a lot of machinery and set up. Unless they are producing tens of thousands of the sets, they cannot bring the price down....it wouldn't be worth it to them. There really hasn't been a need until now. These upper case sets were made for a wide variety of industries, airplane maintenance, key marking, tool marking, car body work etc and the only real need for lower case fonts is in the hobby world. I am WORKIN' on one of my suppliers to mass produce a plain lower case letter set. I think they are starting to listen to and believe me so stay tuned :)

Honestly was really expecting the font to be more unique. I am disappointed. Sorry.

I can't wait 'til they are available. It might have said somewhere, but I think I missed it. What size are these: 1/16? 1/8?

Anonymous said...

Any idea when they'll be available? What size are they? Please take pre-orders, please, please, please....

Gina said...

Will you be taking pre-orders????

Lisa Niven Kelly said...

We will most likely be taking pre-orders once we get our first batch in. I have yet to see an entire set and I don't want to take pre-orders until we see and feel the first batch here :) When we do take pre-orders, we will be sending out an email to our newsletter so make sure you are on our mail list (you can sign up on the homepage).
